Sketching Introduction - The basics of drawing

At BigRock we study 3D and digital design, it's true - but that's not all.
Our students have the opportunity, through workshops and hands-on activities, to explore diverse and complementary skills critical to their future in the world of Computer Graphics.

This week it was the turn of the Master of Computer Graphics students, who participated in the "Sketching Introduction" workshop , with an afternoon entirely devoted to freehand drawing.

Guided by Lorenzo, our Concept Art teacher, the students got to start with the basics, learning and practicing the fundamental techniques of drawing.

During the workshop, students tackled an exercise that was anything but trivial: translating their ideas into quick, focused marks, working only with paper and pencil.
It was an intense afternoon of observation, study of forms and experimentation with the stroke, guided step by step.

The goal was clear: to understand how drawing becomes a tool for thinking visually, for constructing volumes, and for giving structure to ideas that will later also come to life in 3D.
