Riccardo Menegon - Sound Designer

Riccardo Menegon is a sound designer and sound designer for audiovisual. Today he is mainly involved in audio post-production e sound design, the same disciplines he taught here at BigRock within the course of Sound Production.

His career path

His passion for this world began at a very young age. The decisive moment came when, seeing for the first time the animated film WALL-E, he became fascinated by the accompanying sound universe: it was there that he felt the need to understand what lies behind that magic of sounds and emotions.

In his early twenties, he moved to Manchester, England, where he studied Electronic Music and then continued his training in Future Works. To support himself during his studies he held several jobs, the most personally significant of which was at the North West Recording Studios, a recording studio where he learned many of the skills that still guide his work today.

Returning to Italy in 2020, in his early thirties, Riccardo founded Little Audio Works, a company specializing in sound for audiovisuals: commercials, TV series and films. The company also collaborates with Hex Archive.

The experience at BigRock

At BigRock, Riccardo seeks to impart to students not only technical skills, but more importantly his approach to this work: based on research, creativity and a strong dedication.

During his lectures, students also had the opportunity to experience the independent production of the foley, learning how to create unique and personal sound libraries, a key exercise in developing their own language and style.

Professionals like him remind us that curiosity and perseverance are essential ingredients in this profession.
Only by engaging, experimenting and cultivating what you really love is it possible to achieve real results... and all the satisfaction that comes with it!
