3D FASHION DESIGN

Create your first 3D garments

3D Fashion Design Course with CLO3D | May 5, 2026

The fashion industry is integrating digital processes that are radically changing the way garments are conceived, designed, and produced. In this scenario, the ability to design and represent clothes and accessories entirely in 3D has become a strategic skill. BigRock's course introduces the basics of 3D modeling for fashion, providing the technical tools to transform a design idea into a realistic digital prototype using CLO3D, the standard software for clothing simulation.

THE COURSE

The educational program is structured to provide a solid foundation in 3D modeling dedicated to fashion. It is not just about learning how to use software commands, but understanding how the logic of tailoring translates into a digital environment.

Under the guidance of Johnnie Maneiro, you will learn how to use CLO3D to interpret sketches and paper patterns, managing fabric physics and fit on 3D avatars. The course guides students from their first steps in the interface to the creation of a digital capsule collection, combining technical precision and creative vision.

Johnnie Maneiro

With over thirty years of experience in the world of computer graphics, Johnnie Maneiro is one of the leading figures in the digital transition of the fashion industry. His career spans the evolution of CG itself, allowing him to combine deep technical knowledge with a pioneering vision of three-dimensional design. Founder of The Render, Johnnie has been working for years as a consultant and lead designer for international brands, with a vertical specialization in the sportswear sector. In this field, where technical performance of materials and precision of fit are fundamental, he has been able to exploit the potential of physical simulation to redefine design and prototyping workflows. His constant commitment to innovation and his mastery of industry software have earned him recognition as CLO3D Ambassador and Style3D Ambassador, roles that see him playing a leading role in the global dissemination of the best textile simulation technologies. At BigRock, Johnnie draws on his thirty years of experience to guide students in learning 3D modeling for fashion, teaching not only how to use the tools, but also the methodology necessary to excel in an ever-changing market.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

The program replicates the professional workflow, from pattern construction to final rendering.

module 1

Project foundations (Human & Matter)

  • Digital anatomy. Study of avatars, measurements, and poses.
  • Physics in digital materials. Geometry, texture, and sampling.
  • Vector Design. Pattern drafting, technical flats, and introduction to professional Tech Packs.
  • Drapery. Experimentation with wearability and dynamic fabric management.

module 2

Image, production, and AI integration

  • AI inspiration and 3D prototyping. Modeling and volume manipulation (CLO3D).
  • Digital workflow and production output, Study of the transition from 3D model to physical prototype. File optimization for industrial cutting and data management for automated production.
  • Photography and Art Direction. Rendering, composition, lighting for e-commerce/editorial and styling. Image enhancement via AI.
  • Brand Language and Visual Curation. Conceptual mood boards, typography, and layout for digital and print publications.

module 3

Professional integration

  • Strategic storytelling and fashion marketing.
  • Sustainability and Circular Design. Design for end-of-life, upcycling, and circular economy strategies.
  • Business Planning and Collection Management. Market analysis, costing, and distribution channels.
  • Final portfolio and runway simulation. Presentation of the collection via digital lookbook and professional pitch.

WHY THIS PATH

Learning 3D modeling for fashion means acquiring a language that combines design and production. Using CLO3D allows you to visualize the final result before even cutting the fabric, reducing development time and allowing for creative experimentation without physical limitations.
