Dario Mazzone – Graphic Designer & 3D Artist at Mediaset

When we watch television, the graphics and animated backgrounds appear perfect. But what does it really take to create this perfection? Especially when big, unexpected news arrives just hours before a live broadcast.

We discussed this with Dario Mazzone, Graphic Designer and 3D Artist at the Italian television network Mediaset, whose professional career gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the work behind the screen.

His career began in the world of environmental architecture, a field he decided to leave after six months to explore 3D and media production.

In this environment, Dario emphasizes that the most valuable asset is not simply individual technical skill, but the collective ability to remain calm and work perfectly as a team. Reacting without panicking and relying on each other during a crisis is the foundation on which live television is built.

Furthermore, in a creative, fast-paced, and collaborative environment, he believes that the most important soft skill isorder and extreme cleanliness of work, as he learned from his training in architecture, where a misplaced line can compromise an entire structure.

On his experience at BigRock, looking back on his training, Dario describes the school as an immersive environment free from distractions, which he calls a "beautiful bubble."

The campus, far from the chaos of big cities, makes the school a place where students can remain completely focused on their craft.
In a world saturated with digital distractions, the opportunity to enter an isolated place dedicated to learning is an invaluable accelerator.

Dario's journey demonstrates that creating breathtaking visuals for television is, in reality, a job characterized by intense pressure and precision, where calm collaboration is as important as rendering power, and where a well-named file can be worth more than a flash of inspiration.
