RIGGING
We will tackle one of the most technical aspects of the pipeline by learning to create control systems for our models. Whether organic or mechanical, humanoid or creature, we'll master the tools that enable animators to bring these models to life with realistic movement.
Animation
In the Animation module, you'll master the 12 principles of traditional animation and apply them in 3D. You'll then practice these skills with exercises based on real-world references, simulating a professional production environment.
Maquette
Character
Before creating a digital character, it's essential to practically understand the character's anatomy and volumetrics. In the Maquette lessons, you'll study and sculpt a character using clay in our lab, using all the tools provided by BigRock.
Zbrush
We will learn to use one of the most popular software for 3D modeling. We will explore the world of ZBrush and master its arsenal of brushes . We will bring our first 3D character to life.
Character
Project
After understanding volumetrics and getting comfortable with ZBrush, you'll be ready to create your own 3D character. With guidance from mentors, you'll develop a personal project that will provide valuable experience and contribute to your future portfolio.

Are there any specific requirements to attend the courses?
No. Apart from the Master in Concept Art, all our courses start from scratch.
The only requirement we ask for attending BigRock: lots of passion and commitment. Starting from zero means not knowing anything about Maya, 3D modeling or animation, compositing, Unity, or programming. This ensures that everyone begins on the same page from day one.
In six months, we can assure you that you'll be able to produce computer graphics, video games, music, or concepts independently.
Can you turn on a computer? Perfect! You're ready to start our courses! Do you already know something? Have you taught yourself software? If you're choosing to take a course, it probably means you need to fill in gaps in your knowledge or learn proper production methods. That's absolutely fine with us! You might find yourself reviewing concepts or tools you already know in the first few days... but a refresher never hurts! We guarantee that after one or two weeks, everyone will be on the same level and ready to dive into the lessons at full speed!

Can I attend the courses and work at the same time?
To ensure an effective Master's program and out of respect for our teachers and your peers, you will need to be present every day until 6:30 PM, even if there may not be a teacher in class during the final hours of the day. For this reason, we generally discourage our students from balancing school with evening work commitments. We don't doubt your ability to manage both, but you may not fully enjoy the BigRock experience to its fullest potential (and leaving early isn't an option).
Of course, this policy doesn't apply to weekends when the school is closed. We simply ask that you plan your schedule carefully -- we intentionally close on Saturdays and Sundays for rest and to start the week refreshed!
If, as often happens, you have freelance work, feel free to work on it in the evenings at home. However, please note ❗️it is strictly forbidden❗️ to bring your personal computer to school to work on projects unrelated to the Master's program or to use school resources for external work.

How are the Master's classes structured?
Here's a structured explanation of a typical day at BigRock:
9:30 AM - Classes Begin. Punctuality is crucial; no delays are permitted. Depending on the subject, lessons alternate between explanations and exercises. During explanations, instructors share their screens, demonstrating exercises to students and explaining production methodologies. Once explanations are complete, students replicate the exercises as demonstrated.
11:30 AM - Coffee Break, approximately half an hour.
12:00 PM - Lessons resume with a continuation of explanations and exercises.
1:30 PM - Lunch Break. Students can enjoy their packed lunches in common areas or at nearby affiliated facilities.
2:30 PM - Afternoon classes recommence.
4:30 PM - Coffee Break, another half-hour break.
5:00 PM - "Laboratory" Session. Typically, during the latter part of the day, instructors step out, allowing students to work independently. This phase is crucial as it familiarizes students with problem-solving, working without immediate instructor assistance. It's also a relaxed period where students can collaborate on exercises with peers.
6:30 PM - Computers off. Everyone heads home. There are no assignments or exercises due the next day, encouraging rest to recharge for another intense day.
Throughout the week, depending on the subject, the balance between explanations and exercises may shift. Towards the end of the week, students will be tasked with personalizing their work, which will then be submitted and evaluated by instructors. This schedule provides a structured and immersive learning experience at BigRock, emphasizing hands-on practice and independent problem-solving skills.

What job opportunities does this Master's program provide?
The career opportunities provided by our courses are diverse and vary from Master to Master...
The question we often ask those choosing a path in our school is:
What job would you like to do in the future?
"I want to work on movies and animations, but also any job in the field of 3D!"
The Master's in Computer Graphics, being our longest-running course, offers a much broader scope compared to our other, more recent programs. The curriculum of the Computer Graphics Master's includes a comprehensive animation film production pipeline, making it the most complete path in this field.
However, the concepts learned can be applied in various other fields. Today, 3D is extensively used in advertising, photorealistic rendering, photography, architecture, object prototyping, design, and many other fields. If you're unsure about a specific career path but want to keep your options open across different fields, this is the course we recommend!

How does Intesa San Paolo's "By merit" financing work?
Thanks to an agreement signed with our parent company, H-FARM, you can access the "Per Merito" Loan from Intesa San Paolo. If you have any doubts, you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions below:
How much can I request?
The amount is fixed: €12,500. It is disbursed as a credit line and can be used in full or in part, depending on your needs. You can use this sum for any expenses related to the Master's program.
Do I need a guarantor?
NO! BigRock - H-Farm are the guarantors.
When should I apply for the loan?
Once you decide to confirm your enrollment at BigRock, send us the signed contract you downloaded during pre-enrollment, excluding the withdrawal form. Register on the Intesa portal using this link and submit your request directly. Starting from the 15th day after signing the contract, you will receive an email with the authorization code. At that point, you can schedule an appointment at any Intesa San Paolo branch to complete all formalities.
NB. MAKE SURE THE BANK APPLIES THE CONDITIONS AGREED WITH H-FARM!
There are other university agreements, but they work differently from ours!
Where do I find my student number?
On the very first page of the contract you downloaded at the end of pre-enrollment.
What happens if the loan is not granted?
The chances of refusal are close to zero. The loan is denied only if you are already in default. In any case, if enrollment is conditional on obtaining financing and it is not granted, your Master's enrollment will be canceled.
Can I ask you technical questions about the loan?
Interest rates are not our expertise, but you can contact one of Intesa San Paolo's branches before submitting the loan request. They will clear up any doubts you may have!
When will I start repaying the loan? The bank will ask you to start repaying no sooner than one year after the end of the Master's program, giving you some time to find employment.
