Introduction to Blender
overview
Within this course we will take our first steps into 3D using the open source software Blender. We'll start with hints of 3D and software interface to start shipped with the creation of our first 3D model. We will learn what is a UV, a UDIM, how to apply textures and materials. We will understand the difference between models for game and models for offline renders.
At the conclusion of the course each student will render their model with the last lesson in lighting and rendering.

The course is aimed at beginners and 3D enthusiasts. The entire production pipeline of an asset addressed to digital production, both for game and product, will be reproduced in small scale.

- Introduction to 3D: vertices, edges, faces. Volume vs Topology
- Blender interface, navigation and shortcuts
- Object mode, Edit mode, sculpt mode
Week 2
Monday (14:00 - 16:00; 16:30 - 18:30) - 4h
- Exercise: prop in hard surface (free topology)
- Subdivision vs PolyModeling
- UV Editor, UV Unwrap, Udims
- Procedural Texturing, Texture Bake
Week 3

- Exercise: prop in hard surface (proper topology), textures
- Export
- Review
