Overview

A basic, online, 21-week course to learn how to create visual effects and 3D animations.
Each morning you will be provided with video lectures with the day's program, lasting from 1h to 3h, which you can follow independently. During the afternoon of each day, on the other hand, there will be a live group review with the whole class, during which the lecturer will analyze what was produced during the day and give you feedback. This live session will also be recorded so that students who cannot follow it live can review it whenever they want.

From 9:30 a.m. each day (Monday through Friday) recorded lectures are made available.

The Compositing and VFX class gives students a comprehensive overview of the techniques and tools used in the visual effects industry. Through theoretical and practical lectures, students will explore topics such as greenscreen, rotoscoping, tracking and integration of CG elements. We will also delve into how to speed up and improve production by implementing AI technologies.

Can I take the online course and work at the same time?

Are there any specific requirements for taking the courses?

BigRock's courses are dedicated to all those who dream of turning their passion for films, animation, video games, drawing, music and coding into a future job.

So this is the only requirement we ask to attend BigRock: an unbridled passion for these worlds.
Except for the Master in Concept Art, all our courses start from zero.
Zero means for us not knowing anything about Maya, 3D modeling or animation, compositing, Unity or programming. So that on the first day we can all start from the beginning.

And in six months we can assure you that you will know how to produce computer graphics, video games, music or concepts completely independently.

Do you know how to turn on a computer?
Perfect! You can start the courses!

Do you already know something? Have you already learned software as a self-taught?
Probably if you are choosing to take a course, it means you need to supplement your knowledge or you need to learn the correct methods of production. This is absolutely not a problem for us! Maybe in the first few days you will find yourself repeating concepts or tools you already know... but a review never hurts! Guaranteed that after a week or two everyone will be at the same level and ready to push the envelope with lessons!

The question we usually ask those who are choosing a path in our school is:
What job would you like to do when you grow up?

I want to do films and animation, but also any job in the field of 3D!
The Master in Computer Graphics, being the longest running course we have, has a much broader scope than the other two, more recent ones. The Master's program in Computer Graphics goes side by side with a classic production line (in jargon Pipeline) of an animated film, because in this field it is definitely the most comprehensive course. This does not preclude you from applying the concepts you have learned in other areas. As of today, 3D is used extensively in advertising, photorealistic rendering, photography, architecture, object prototyping, design, and so many other fields.
If you still have no idea what specifically you would like to do when you grow up, but want to keep the door open to all fields, this is the course we recommend!
